We arrived to that hospital and I was quickly hooked up to monitors and evaluated. Things were slow going at first. Even though my water had broken, the contractions were slow and not very strong. We walked, sat on the exercise ball, walked some more, and finally it was decided that we needed to get things moving with some pitocin. I soon decided that once the contractions were a little stronger, I was ready for an epidural….loved it!
Mom arrived safely from San Antonio.
She took pictures of us, too.
And then we waited…
I signed papers…
Josh worked on lesson plans…
We waited some more…
After hours of labor, we realized Corinne was trying to come out left ear first. We prayed and I pushed for almost three hours.
Finally, she turned, and the real pushing began and quickly ended in the arrival of Corinne. Here’s our first look at her.
Corinne Elizabeth was 7 pounds, 1 ounce, 20 inches long, born at 6:19 p.m.
First Family Photo…
Three (of seven) generations of first born women
This would have not been possible or as great of a success without the help of the greatest L&D nurse ever…Tonja (ask for her).
And of course the loving delivery of Corinne by Dr. Wylie…
There are no words to describe this entire few hours, but it changed our lives forever. I spoke with my dad a few weeks later after sending him some of these same pictures. His words were that it was hard not to believe in God after seeing a newborn especially your own flesh and blood. Hence, the title of this blog entry…there are no athiests in labor and delivery rooms. We are very blessed to welcome the safe and healthy arrival of Corinne Elizabeth to our family.
yay!!! welcome corrine. she’s beautiful; so happy for your family!
Beautiful baby….and whata very fortunate little girl to be born into this family.
