Happy One month birthday, Sweet Girl!

So, it’s official….it really does go by fast. Our girl is one month old today and as cute and sweet and gorgeous as ever. We are getting to know her more and more each day as new little traits and noises and expressions seem to appear on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. She sleeps great and eats even better. Her newest developments have included a smile to mommy and daddy as well as the hair on the top of her head falling out. She makes some hilarious grunting noises when she is in the process of #2, but she has also started making sweet little girl coos and as well which melt our hearts every time.

We’ve also figured out that our girl likes to sleep with her arms above her head (bye bye swaddle) and her legs stretched out.

At her one month check up we found out she is doing stellar. She was 10 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces (90%); 23 1/4 inches long (100%) and has a head circumference of 14 1/2 inches (35%). Her weight jumped up from 50% to 90% and her height jumped up from 75% to 100% (not sure about the head circumference). We think she is actually more on the order of 22 inches long, but either way, she is well within average in height and weight….and, she definitely does not have a Dyer/Goebel head. Maybe she will be able to wear one-size-fits-all hats like normal people. 

Josh is back at work and I am a third of the way through my maternity leave. We are doing well in spite of less than stellar sleep. Josh helps take the baby for as long as she’ll last on weekend mornings. Luckily we have started an almost consistent four hours from the beginning of one feeding to the beginning of the next each night. That has made a huge difference in my ability to function in the mornings.

In just over a week, Grammy Jobeth comes to visit and Corinne will also meet cousin Isabella. We can’t wait to post those pictures. Until then, here is the transformation of our little girl over the past month.
