I (Ruthie) was so paranoid that Corinne would come way past her due date that I recommended that JoBeth come more towards the end of October to be sure she had plenty of time with Corinne. Plane tickets were purchased and plans were made based on this recommendation. When our little Cookie came early, poor Jobeth and Corinne ended up having to wait nearly six weeks to meet each other.
But the day finally came. Corinne and I drove to Love Field together giddy to meet her Grammy. (I had a Grammy, too…Grammy Ruth….Grammies are very special to their grand-daughters.) Because of airport security, we had to go fast, but these two finally met and had their first of many Grammy kisses.
After a much needed stop at Starbucks (for me anyway), we went home for some Grammy time. JoBeth said she found her happy place. (I’m pretty sure Corinne found a happy place of her own.)
These two bonded over the next week and spent a lot of time together like the picture above (in between helping me with errands and some much needed home cooking). Fortunately, those six weeks were well worth the wait!
